If you’re all about having a good time and prefer going barefoot to high heels, opt for something loose, undone, and natural. “This can play into a relaxed, messy braid, twists, or really anything that has a low-key look,” “In playing up your free-spirited nature, you can also add flowers to the hair ,” suggests Al Fortier . “But everything should be kept light, flowing, and effortless.”

Things to Remember to Do the Night Before Your Wedding

You’ve crossed off one thing after another on your wedding to-do lists. Now, less than 24 hours before you climb into your wedding dress and let out a confident “I Do” to your very own prince charming is a list of 19 things you need to do.
1. Eat a healthy meal.
Although that greasy fast food might be screaming your name, you should stick to the fresh fruit and the whole grains. They won’t have you waking up on your big with a food hangover like a Big Mac and a poutine will on your wedding day.
2. Pack a bag or clutch of personal items.
Put together your reception clutch and your post-reception bag and hand it off to your wedding point person, who can help make sure it’s waiting for you in the bridal suite or in your hotel room.
3. Drink a lot of water.
Keep a cold glass of water nearby and make sure you spend some quality time with it. This will help you avoid any dehydration that stress and running around can often cause.
4. Get a good night’s sleep.
Or at least try to tuck yourself underneath those covers at a decent hour.
5. Turn your phone on silent.
Say goodbye to checking your social media accounts and answering text messages. Turn your device on silent or hand it over to your maid-of-honor.
6. Put any boxes, suitcases, bags to bring to the ceremony or reception in the car.
Pack the car with all the items you’ll need for your wedding day so that you can wake up in the morning and not have to worry about doing any heavy lifting before getting out of the door.
7. Make sure you have cash on hand.
Have a couple of 20 dollar bills nearby in case you need to tip any of your vendors or in case of any last-minute emergencies.
8. Double-check payment for vendors.
Have them sorted out — whether that means your payments are via E- transfer, gathering checks or cash and put them in clearly marked enveloped and hand them off to your point person for the wedding day (whether that’s your wedding planner, bridesmaid, or family member).
9. Gather a survival kit.
Toss a bunch of must-have items into a small tote bag in case anyone needs them. Grab a handful of Band-Aids, safety pins, packets of Advil, and a Tide stick.
10. Print out a list of vendor details.
Be sure to include vendor info . like their phone number, arrival time, and name. Then, pass this list on to your point person so they can check up on them.
11. Write a love note to your groom.
Something short and sweet. A note to tell the man in the tux who will be waiting for you that he is the one you will love forever!
12. Grab a pair of flip flops.
Keep these close by, you’ll want to change into them throughout your wedding day — whether after the morning photos are taken or in the middle of the reception. Your feet are going to need a time-out before you do!
13. Watch something that’ll make you laugh.
In the spirit of putting yourself in a happy and enlightened mood, plop yourself down in front of the TV and watch some funny on Netflix.
14. Enjoy a mani and pedi.
While you’re getting a fresh coat of polish , say “I do” when they ask you if you’d like to add on a 10-minute massage. Pamper yourself — you deserve it!
15. Assign someone to be your morning-after person.
This person’s role will be to collect all the gifts at the end of the wedding and do one final sweep of the venue when the party is over to make sure you didn’t leave anything behind.
16. Say a big “thank you.”
Before the wedding-day chaos kicks in, be sure to thank people in advance for sticking by your side through this adventure. Give an extra hug to your bridesmaids and pop a kiss on the cheeks of your family members.
17. Make sure the shoe fits.
Even better, make sure you practice walking a straight line in them. After that, turn the volume up on your favorite Taylor Swift song and bust out some dance moves. This will help you not only relieve some stress, but it’ll make you see your threshold for when your shoes are going to start throwing a temper tantrum on your feet.
18. Confirm with vendors.
There’s a time and a place for everything. Make sure your outside vendors know when and where to show up. Now’s the time to also let them know the name and phone number of your “point person” that day.
19. Practice deep yoga-like breaths.
End the day before your wedding with 5-minutes of meditation and deep breaths. This will help calm you down before you hop into bed for the last time as a Miss.

There are plenty of steps you can take (and others that you shouldn’t!) to ensure  your bridal hair style is everything you’ve dreamed of.

Here are some tips from Alistbeauty, owner Al Fortier on what you should know, do, and expect while getting your mane ready for your walk down the aisle.

What ALL Brides Should Do

As with most things in life, it’s important to be prepared. This means maintaining your hair regularly for it to be in prime condition with professional hair care. Make sure you trim your hair regularly. This makes for smooth strands, for a perfected style. Also, consider adding subtle highlights to give amazing dimension throughout the style, and for the photos.

“Try to keep your hair in its best condition by avoiding too much heat. One of the worst things you could do pre-wedding is to singe your gorgeous locks with too much heat! We recommend using a heat protectant before blow-drying, or heat styling. What NO Bride Should DO

It may be tempting to give a whole new look a try prior to your day as a bride, but it’s not a good idea. Alistbeauty warns against drastic color changes, explaining, “Make sure you are thinking ahead. These will be memories that last a lifetime. You should want your color to reflect you as a person, not something that was trending.” So, while some styles and hair colours might look gorge on Instagram, you might want to save it for after you’ve wed.

The #1 question Alistbeauty brides ask most often is, “Do you think this will stay?” While of course we wish we could keep our bridal hair perfect forever, try to be reasonable in your expectations. “Of course hair will naturally lose volume and some shape throughout the long day ahead of you,” To try to combat this,  we suggests brides-to-be select a style according to weather and texture. For added volume, length, and shape, Al also proposes considering hair extensions.

Be Prepared

It’s recommended you begin to follow a great hair care regimen, just as you would a skincare. “Always have high quality products for your hair—shampoo and conditioner followed by styling products,” says Al. “Speak with your hairdresser to find out what products and regimen will work best for your hair texture.” he adds, “I truly love colourproof moisture shampoo and masque.” While you’re at it, be sure to keep up with your coloring services!

Hair and make up inspired by an era long gone yet so elegant that it withstands time its shelf.   Colours  of gold and soft pink draw inspiration from Imperial Russia and the opulent beauty of exquisite Fabergé eggs. A  gold damask  backdrop reflected the ornate interiors of the Alexander Palace, which was once so admired for its masterful design. Miniature Fabergé eggs, encased in glass domes, were created to sit atop of each place setting, thus adding an addition touch of elegance to the tablescape . Gold pears and macarons cascaded from inside the cake, along with pearl and sugar flower details, making it the undisputed showstopper of the shoot.

How to Ensure That Your Hair and Makeup Schedules Stay On-Time and Stress-Free
Your beauty appointments will be relaxing—not stressful—with these alistbeauty expert tips.
The morning of your wedding, you should be relaxed, excited, and ready to get glam—not worrying about whether the hair and makeup appointments will be on time!
The key to avoiding beauty-induced stress is to make sure you’ve got everything scheduled to a T (as well as fab stylists to make it all possible! Thank you Alistbeauty !). Does the thought of all this scheduling make you, well, stressed? Don’t worry! We are  pros at tips to a seamless, easy wedding morning that might even have you ahead of schedule!

Be Smart About the Order

When you’re deciding who goes first, make sure you’re being smart about it.  We always tell our brides to schedule the most responsible bridesmaid or your Mom earlier in the morning.  That way your schedule isn’t held up because of the one bridesmaid who is always late to everything!
Often the mother of the bride will want her services done earlier so she’s available to help out before the ceremony. Or if a bridesmaid has young children, find out when the babysitter is arriving so she can have her hair and makeup done while someone else is watching the little ones.”

…But Don’t Give Your Bridal Party Too Much Say

No one wants to be the first appointment! and would rather go last.  Everyone is worried about their hair and makeup lasting throughout the day. Alistbeauty lets our clients know that, even if you’re the very first appointment,  we will  touch up at the end so you look fresh as you walk out the door.”

Be Flexible

Everyone’s hair and skin types are different, so the services will take a different amount of time for each person. If you tell people they have an appointment time, they’re more likely to be inflexible and start earlier or get nervous if their time has passed. Instead, remind everyone that the timing is fluid, and ask them to be available in a particular order without a strict time attached.  Request that anyone having their hair and makeup done be around all morning so they can easily swap appointments if someone needs to step out for a few minutes. You don’t want the timeline to be disrupted because you’re waiting for a bridesmaid to show up!

Keep Styles in Mind

Make up first or hair?  Again be flexible.  When someone’s hair is finished, it’s best to touch it as little as possible, so sometimes to keep the services moving along, we’ll do most of a woman’s hair, and then finish the top or front pieces after her makeup is done,” she suggests. Having your hair set in curls? Hop in the hair stylist’s chair before moving on to makeup. This way you can have your makeup done while your hair is setting, and then have your hair finished when you’re done. It’s more efficient, and you won’t be stuck sitting in a chair for too long!

Schedule Services With Your Timeline in Mind

When deciding what time to do the bride’s appointments, it’s important to know what else is going on before the ceremony. Is she doing a boudoir shoot , bridal portraits, or a first look? Then she’ll need her hair and makeup done earlier in the day.  If she’s not doing any photos until after the ceremony, I usually do the bride’s services second to last or last. If she’s a little more nervous, it’s better to do her appointments second to last so she has some time to relax before putting on her dress.
Alistbeauty likes to plan for the bride’s services somewhere in the middle of the pack.  We want to make sure there’s more than enough time for the bride, since she’s the most important person of the day. Doing her hair and makeup in the middle leaves time for adjustments, fixes, and a more leisurely process.  It also means the bride will be in great shape when the photographer arrives or the florist drops off her bouquet . If she’s out of the hair and makeup chair, she’ll be able to answer questions or take care of things, and still have lots of time to relax before she gets dressed.
And don’t forget the timeline when it comes to people like your mom or maid of honor ! If they are going to help you get dressed (and that moment will be photographed), their hair and makeup should be done beforehand.

Schedule the Quickest Appointments Last

The last people in the hair and makeup chairs (before touch-ups, of course) should be the flower girls. Young girls can be fidgety, which may cause their hair to come undone if they’ve got too much time before the ceremony.
